Sensex ends 11.76 points lower on profit selling

Mumbai: The benchmark Sensex closed lower by 11.76 points at 11,465.72 on the Bombay Stock Exchange today (Aug 18, 2006) on emergence of profit selling by funds.

In choppy deals, the Sensex witnessed a high of 11,508.17 points and a low of 11,409.11, before ending in negative zone with most of the market participants booking profits at existing higher levels.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, moved between 3366.25 and 3332.20 points before ending a little higher by 2.85 points at 3356.75.
