Siemens subsidiary aims to double turnover in 5 yrs
Friday, August 18 2006 16:50 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Kolkata: Siemens Information Systems Ltd (SISL), the 100 percent IT subsidiary of Siemens Ltd, is aiming at doubling turnover in five years.

The company is expecting 20 percent growth in turnover in 2005-06, from the Rs.6.35 billion reported in 2004-05.

The company, specialising in systems integration and IT solutions, follows October to September as the fiscal year.

Focus on telecommunications, innovations and software development for corporate clients and larger share of business from corporates other than Siemens would drive the growth, managing director Anil Laud said.

"We expect that other companies will contribute 85 percent of business and share of business from Siemens will be 15 percent in the next two years," Laud said.

SISL presently has centres at Mumbai, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Pune, Kolkata and Chennai with 4,200 people on its rolls.

"We hope to employ 750 people in the Kolkata centre at Millennium Towers in the near future," Laud said.
