Sensex crosses 10K level in record shortest time

Mumbai: Sensex once again captured the psychological support level of 10,000 points after a fastest ever 1000-point rally in just two days bringing back cheers for investors after the recent meltdown.

The Sensex, was back in the five-digit mark in less than 24 hours, surpassing the previous fastest ever journey to this peak in about 15 days.

The market staged a smart upward move as foreign funds joined buying in almost all Asian region influenced by Japan's central bank decision to defer a hike in interest rates amid reports of similar feeling at the US Fed.

The Sensex, which went below 10,000 points on June 6 as the market came in full bear control, in the absence of foreign funds, regained strength in previous day's trade and commenced fresh upward journey from 8929.44 points and recorded a biggest ever rise of over 1100 points.

After a biggest ever rise of 615 points yesterday, It added another 455.91 points more till noon today to place the Sensex over 10,000 level as aggressive foreign funds buying boosted sentiment among small and medium investors.
