Sensex plunges on funds selling in early trade Monday, June 12 2006 11:17 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

After a positive start, the benchmark Sensex fell sharply by over 200 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange today (June 12, 2006), on emergence of selling by funds in blue-chip scrips.
The Sensex, which opened higher by 48 points, declined by 219.70 points at 9590.76 in the first five minutes of trade.
Similarly, the National Stock Exchange Nifty after opening higher by 5 points, rolled down by 66.05 points at 2800.25.
The new entry in the Sensex club, Reliance Communications, was down by Rs 11.90 at Rs 209.00.
Meanwhile, the two new listings of Deccan Aviation and Unity Infraprojects opened below their offer prices.
