Sensex at new high of 12,379.06 on funds buying Thursday, May 4 2006 10:57 Hrs (IST) - World Time -  Mumbai:
Continuing with its upward march, the Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensitive Index rose by over 68 points to hit new high of 12,379.06 in fist five minutes of trading today (May 4, 2006)on increased buying by foreign and domestic funds.
The BSE 30-share index which had closed at an-all time high of 12,310.72 points, opened better at 12,358.31 and rose to another new high of 12,379.06, showing a rise of 68.34 points.
Similarly, the Nifty on the wide-based National Stock Exchange was up by 19.15 points to trade at record high of 3653.40.
The major gainers were Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, BHEL, Grasim Industries, Larsen and Toubro, Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, Tata Power and Ranbaxy Lab.
