Pass on global oil price hike to customers: Montek
The Planning Commission today (May 4, 2006) said the surge in global oil prices should be passed on to customers, but favoured having some provisions to safeguardthe interests of vulnerable sections of the society.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram yesterday (May 3, 2006) said the Government would take a call on hiking domestic oil prices after consulting the UPA allies, as Reserve Bank asked for a quick decision with global crude prices now at an unsustainable level of over 70 dollars a barrel.
