Sensex tumbles by 268 pts as NSE hikes margins
The benchmark sensex today (Apr 25, 2006) went into a tailspin and ended 268 points down, extending its losses to the third straight session after investors reacted negatively to a decision to hike in trading margins.

Sensex falls by 78 points during morning trade
The stock market continued its downslide for the second consecutive day with the benchmark Sensex falling by another 78 points during morning trading as investors were engaged in roll-over of positions in the futures ahead of the expiry of April contract. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Benchmark 30-share Index (Sensex) reacted negatively after a firm start at 11,943.08 points and dropped sharply to 11,836.80 points at 10.30 am, a net fall of 78.44 points from yesterday's close of 11,915.24.

Oil prices slip from record highs amid profit taking
World oil prices fell from record highs amid profit-taking, as traders debated whether the market had topped out or was merely pausing amid another run higher.
