New Delhi: ONGC group today (Apr 16, 2006) announced a net profit of Rs 15,485 crore on a turnover of Rs 86,414 crore during 2005-06.

Announcing the provisional unaudited results, group chairman Subir Raha told reporters that the group on the whole had performed remarkably during its golden jubilee year (2005-06).

The flagship company ONGC Ltd announced a profit after tax of Rs 14,175 crore during the year, reflecting a growth of 9 per cent on a turnover of Rs 50,900 crore.

As a result of high performance, investors backed ONGC Ltd which recorded a market captialisation of Rs 1,90,000 crore on March 30, 2006, Raha said.
