Mumbai: On the back of robust foreign as well as domestic funds portfolio investments, the Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark index (Sensex) crossed the crucial 11000 mark in early trading to touch an all-time high of 11,001.50 points.

The BSE's 30-share sensitive index opened slightly better at 10,945.62 as against yesterday's close of 10,941.11 points and moved further upwards to a historic intra-day high of 11,001.50 points before being quoted at 10,941.11 at 10.25 a.m., up by 53.28 points.
