The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex today (Feb 23,2006) hit another high of 10,290.65 during early trading on increased buying by both Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and operators.
The 30-share sensitive index (Sensex) started the day on a higher note at 10,268.51 as against yesterday's (Feb 22,2006) close of 10,224.32 and soon shot up to hit a new high of 10,290.65 immediately.
FIIs, the main diving force behind the record-breaking rally, made a handsome net investment in eqities worth Rs 5.86 billion on February 20 and Rs 125.30 crores on February 21, taking the total investment in the current month to a whopping Rs 49.05 bn.
Some of the firm spots were Reliance Industries Limited(RIL),Larsen and Turbo (L&T), Infosys Tech, State Bank of India (SBI), Satyam, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tata Steel, HLL, Hindalco and ICICI Bank.
