India's key stock market index, which is on a record breaking spree, today (Feb 23 2006) touched yet another high of 10,304.88 points at mid-session today on sustained buying by foreign as well as domestic funds.
The Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark index which had closed nearly 56 points higher at 10,224.32 yesterday, opened significantly high and shot up to 10,304.88 at 1330 hours.
Similarly, the Nifty index on the National Stock Exchange shot up to a record high of 3078.40 points against its latest close of 3050.80.
The major gainers were index-heaviest Reliance Industries, Infosys Technologies, ITC Ltd, Hind Lever, Tata Consultancy, BHEL, ONGC and Tata Steel.
