Indices set new peaks on boosting economic growth

Mumbai: In line with the growing economy, the bourses across the country remained cheerful on increased inflow of foreign and domestic funds, placing major indices to set new peaks led by benchmark Sensex at 9689.89 points during the mid-session.

The second largest bourse National Stock Exchange index Nifty was at all time high of 2937.50, gaining 29.50 points, surpassing the previous high record of 2927.25 on January 9.

The major gainers were Bajaj Auto, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Dr Reddy Lab, Hero Honda, Tata Motors, Infossys Technologies, ICICI Bank, HDFC Ltd., Larsen and Toubro, Grasim Industries and ITC Ltd.
