Bangalore: Wavecom, a leader in embedded wireless communications solutions for automotive, industrial and mobile applications, has signed a technology partnership with IT major Infosys, to address the growing 'machine-to-machine' wireless connectivity market.

As per the agreement, "Infosys technologies will become a Wavecom certified competence centre, offering design, development and integration services based on 'open AT', Wavecome's wireless software platform", a company release said.

The partnership will enable Wavecom to provide wireless solutions to global customers utilising Infosys' proven expertise in product engineering and IT, the release added.

The partnership will provide clients of both companies with cost-competitive designs, rapid time-to-time market and industrial reliability.

With the signing of this contract, Infosys becomes the first global certified competence centre partner of Wavecom based in Asia-Pacific region, it said.

Wavecom which is headquartered in Paris has subsidiaries in Hong Kong, US and Germany.
