Infosys jumps 30.58 percent in Q3 to Rs 649 crore

Bangalore: Infosys Technologies today (Jan 11,2006) reported a 30.58 per cent jump in net profit in third quarter (October-December 2005) to Rs 649 crore.

Bangalore-based firm's revenues for the quarter went up to Rs 2,532 crore, up 34.97 per cent, compared to the same period of the previous fiscal.

The consolidated results for the quarter ended December 31 showed earnings per share before exceptional items increasing to Rs 23.68 from Rs 18.50 for the corresponding quarter in the previous year, an increase of 28 per cent.

The NASDAQ-listed firm which is India's second largest software exporter said it added 36 new clients during the third quarter.

The October-December period also saw Infosys and subsidiaries adding 5,135 employees on gross basis (net 3,226 employees).

"We have seen another quarter of steady growth", said CEO, President and Managing Director Nandan M Nilekani. "Our initiatives in strategic alignment, capability building and operational excellence are all on track".

Infosys said its continued focus on being the business transformational partner for its clients gained significant momentum in the third quarter.
