BSE: Sensex reacts downwards during morning trade Thursday, January 5 2006 11:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

After touching a new high of 9679.72 and opening session, the Sensex immediately reacted downwards and was quoted 19 point lower after 10 minutes of opening on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today (Jan 5, 2006).
The BSE bench-mark 30-shares sensitive index (Sensex) opened slightly lower at 9638.27 as against yesterday's (Jan 4,2006) close of 9648.08 and logged a intra-day high of 9679.72.
Thereafter, it reacted downwards on profit selling at higher level and touched a low of 9620.96 before being quoted at 9629.15 at 10.05 a.m. a net fall of 18.93 point.
Dealers said that cautious operators were booking profit selectively ahead of the announcement of third quarter results early next week.
