IBM today (Dec 27, 2005) said it has recorded highest revenue growth in the external storage market in India in the third quarter (July-September 2005), outpacing the industry with a phenomenal growth rate of 182 per cent.
Quoting IDC Asia/Pacific Quarterly Storage Tracker, 3Q 2005, November 2005, IBM India said it clocked a 10.6-point market share gain year-on-year (3Q 2005 over 3Q 2004).
"With a phenomenal growth of 182 per cent year-on-year in customer revenues, IBM outpaced the overall external storage market growth of 48 per cent in India (3Q 2005 over 3Q 2004)", IBM India said in a statement here.
IBM India has been experiencing strong growth in the external storage space in the last one year, moving up from fifth position at the end of 2004 to second position in 3Q 2005 in terms of customer revenues, which is barely three points behind the current market leader, the statement said.
The total size of the external storage89, a net gain of 197.27 points or 2.17 per cent.
