Sensex shoots up by 80 pts, touches new high of 9014 Wednesday, November 30 2005 10:27 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The Sensex today (Nov 30, 2005) recovered sharply and shot up by 80.43 points to touch a new high of 9014.40 during the first ten minutes of trading at the opening session on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on fresh bouts of heavy buying activity.
The BSE 30-share sensitive index opened with fresh gains at 8962.92 as against yesterday's close of 8931.16 and soon shot up to a peak of 9014.40 in just ten minutes of trading and was quoted at 9011.59 at 10.05 am, showing a sharp gain of 80.43 points over the previous close.
FIIs continued to lend heavy support, while operators and retail investors made good purchases at yesterday's low-level, brokers said.
During early trading, a large number of shares such as RIL, Infosys Tech, REL, Tata Motors, Wipro, TCS, BHEL, ICICI Bank, L&T, HLL and ONGC were quoted firm.
