Bangalore: Maxtor Corporation, a worldwide leader in hard disk drives and consumer storage products, today (Nov 30, 2005) said it would ship this quarter its next generation 500 GB hard drives for enterprise, consumer and desktop markets.

The company would ship SATA II and ATA/133 MaXLine (enterprise solutions), Quick View (consumer electronics-DVRs and PVRs) and Diamond Max (desktop) brand hard drives with capacity point upto 500 GB, a senior executive said.

Each brand leverages a core platform, advanced technologies and design and is optimised with value-added feature sets for its specific market environments, Robert Chu, newly appointed Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Asia and Pacific and Japan, Maxtor, told reporters here.
