Bangalore:
US-based Aptuit Inc, a leading drug development services company, today (Nov 24, 2005) said it has completed the acquisition of InfoPro Solutions, a developer of information systems for the drug development markets, including its Indian operations.
As part of the unspecified all cash deal, Aptuit would acquire InfoPro Solutions' facilities at Agoura Hills in California and Massachusetts in US, Bangalore and Frankfurt in Germany, an InfroPro statement said.
Aptuit would retain InfoPro's 120 employees, it said.
InfoPro's clients include some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and Aptuit would continue to provide them with industry standard IT systems, services and global development teams of domain experts.
The deal was expected to close in late 2005 or early 2006, the statement said.
Under the brand name of Aptuit Informatics, InfoPro's professionals would continue to develop, market and service the mission-critical information systems to support drug developers all over the world, it said.
The acquisition, the statement said, would provide comprehensive solutions to small, virtual and large global pharmaceutical companies.
Aptuit would also tap InfoPro Solutions' development facility in Bangalore to increase efficiencies by 'in sourcing' some of their internal business process-related IT needs that are presently outsourced to IT vendors, it said.
Vikram Maria, CEO and founder of InfoPro Solutions, would join Aptuit's senior management team as President of Aptuit Informatics, the statement added.
