Air Deccan launches Chennai-Puttaparthi daily flights

Bangalore: Air Deccan, India's first low cost carrier on 12th November, 2005 announced the launch of its daily direct flights to the 'Holy town of Puttaparthi' in Andhra Pradesh from Hyderabad and Chennai.

Capt Gopinath commented, 'Puttaparthi sees a lot of traffic from Indian and International travelers seeking blessings from Shri Sai Baba and the demand has been high to connect Puttaparthi to various metros. It is currently not connected by any other airline. We plan to begin with Chennai and Hyderabad and later connect Puttaparthi to the other metros'.

A 48 seater ATR 42-500 has been deployed on these sectors. Air Deccan fares begin at Rs 500 (plus taxes) and go up to Rs 2,400 for Chennai-Puttaparthi flights. An inaugural fare of Rs 1,000 (valid till 20th November 2005) for Hyderabad-Puttaparthi flights. Regular fare starts at Rs 500 (plus taxes) and goes up to Rs 2,400.
