Sensex shows an impressive rise during morning trade Thursday, October 20 2005 12:07 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The benchmark Sensex index displayed a spectacular rise on the Bombay Stock Exchange in early trade today (Oct 20, 2005) lifting Sensex to cross 8100 mark on aggressive buying by funds.
The barometer Sensex shot up by 163.77 points at 8134.83 points in first ten minutes of trading on foreign funds buying in index heavy stocks.
Similarly, the Nifty on the NSE rose by 51.40 points at 2463.85.
The major support to the index came from Infosys, Reliance Industries, Reliance Energy, ACC, Tata Consultancy and Satyam Computer.
Market men said the bourses recovered almost all the losses its suffered the previous day.
They said the buying was widespread from all side along with short covering by bear operators.
