Air Deccan assists Govt in JK quake relief efforts Tuesday, October 18 2005 14:33 Hrs (IST) - World Time -  Bangalore:
Air Deccan today (Oct 18, 2005) sent 11 tonnes of relief material to Srinagar as part of the Indian Government's ongoing relief efforts for the earthquake-ravaged state.
An Airbus, A 320, with only relief material departed for Srinagar today at 1230 hours from the New Delhi Airport. Also on board were officials from Air Deccan to ensure proper off loading of the supplies.
Spotlight: Quake in North India
An Air Deccan official said, "The natural calamity that struck Srinagar is indeed very unfortunate. This special flight has been commissioned to take only relief material for the disaster. The aircraft taking the supplies, is a brand new Airbus A 320 and its gives us immense gratification that the maiden flight that the Airbus is taking would be for this noble cause."
