FIIs record net sales in equities at Rs 248.09 cr

Mumbai: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) recorded net sales in equities at Rs 248.09 crore (USD 56 million) for the trading week-ended October seven while mutual funds (MFs) were also purchasers at Rs 37.66 crore.

The foreign funds were net sellers in the debt market at Rs 340.90 (USD 78 million) for the period under review, according to the data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) here.

The mutual funds were net purchasers in the debt market at Rs 14.62 crore.

The foreign funds recorded highest net outflows of the trading week in equities at Rs 568.50 crore (USD 129.40 mn) on October seven followed by Rs 118.40 crore (USD 27.10 mn) on October four.

FIIs were net sellers in the debt market at Rs 371.50 crore (USD 85.10 mn) on October five.

MFs recorded highest net purchases in the equity market on October three when they sold equity worth Rs 149.45 crore on October five.

The highest sales by MFs in debt market were on October five at Rs 362.43 crore.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), during the week under review, saw the Sensex gaining 142.92 points to close at 8491.56 points.
