Jet to induct 12 Boeing 737s to expand domestic fleet Tuesday, October 4 2005 14:19 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Kochi:
Jet Airways will induct 12 Boeings 737 planes in the next 20 months to augment its domestic fleet strength, Chief Operating Officer Peter Luethi said today (Oct 04, 2005).
With the growing opportunities in the aviation sector, the airline was looking at increasing frequencies in some sectors, he said "Our aim to is have more morning and evening flights connecting various cities and to increase frequencies in some sectors," Luethi told reporters here.
Asked if passenger fare hike was round the corner with increasing crude oil prices, he said ATF had a direct impact on the revenues. Since Jet Airways had been able to operate full capacity, the loss had been offset. But if the fuel prices continue to go up, "we will have to eventually pass it on to the passengers," he said.
The ATF today was close to 35 per cent of the operating cost, he said.
The airline was also reviewing its air fares on a continuous basis, he said.
