Sensex reaches another milestone, up by 44 pts
Reaching yet another milestone, the Sensex today (Sept 29, 2005) surged past the 8700 mark to historic peaks in sustained volatility as the bullish fervor gained further momentum, propelling the Sensex to a new record closing highs of 8650.17.

Govt approves absorption of officers in Telecom
The Union Cabinet today (Sept 29, 2005) approved a package, including 25 per cent rise in emoluments retrospectively, to 3,000 Group A officers of telecom service cadre for absorption in BSNL and MTNL while extending the date of absorption by two weeks to October 15.
