Bangalore: Pervasive Software Inc. (Nasdaq: PVSW), a global value leader in data infrastructure software, today (Sept 28, 2005) announced it is continuing to expand its operations in Bangalore. With the opening of Pervasive's India Development Center, the company reaffirms its commitment to diverse product engineering infrastructure, designed to speed the time required for bringing new products to market. The company presently employs more than 50 people at the development center in Bangalore and is actively hiring a variety of technical personnel.

For more than 20 years, Pervasive has been a trusted, global value leader dedicated to providing data infrastructure software built specifically to meet the demands of mid-size companies and departments of Global 2000 enterprises who demand flexibility, speed to value and low total cost of ownership. The award-winning data management and integration product lines are designed specifically for small to mid-sized businesses and departments of large enterprises where high performance, flexibility, rapid deployment and low total cost of ownership are paramount.

The development of product engineering infrastructure in India and planned expansion has allowed Pervasive to strengthen its ability to undertake leading-edge product development activities from design to deployment. As an extension of the United States (US) operations in Austin, Texas, the India Development Center focuses on full-fledged product development, including core R&D work, not just maintenance, that directly addresses critical customer and market needs.

"Pervasive continues to grow its world-class research and development center by recruiting top-level engineers and expanding to new facilities," said Jaisimha Muthegere, Director of India software operations. "We are excited that Bangalore provides such tremendous software talent and we are very confident in the expertise and capabilities of our engineering team. With over 35,000 customers globally, and India being projected as a software superpower, we are confident of the potential of the Indian software market."
