Teleradiology forges tie-up with GE Global Research
Tuesday, September 27 2005 16:29 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: Teleradiology Solutions, a leading provider of teleradiology services, today (Sept 27, 2005) announced a joint research partnership with GE Global Research, the centralised research organisation of the General Electric Company, to explore new techniques in 3D imaging analysis.

Specifically, Teleradiology Solutions will leverage its extensive knowledge in radiology to provide a clinical evaluation of the latest technologies being developed by GE Global Research in the areas of 3D advanced applications for magnetic Resonance (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging, the company said in a statement.

One area of focus is vascular imaging, where enhanced 3D visualisation of blood vessels would greatly improve the quality of health care by enabling doctors to more accurately diagnose and treat patients with vessel blockages, aneurysms, and other vascular pathologies in a non-invasive manner, it said.

"3D post-processing is a powerful new tool for doctors, that allows them to visualise blood vessels in the body with a high degree of clarity, non-invasively," Dr Arjun Kalyanpur, CEO of Teleradiology Solutions, said in the statement.

"Many of the applications developed by the General Electric Company in Whitefiled are being integrated into the GE advantage windows workstation and used in conjunction with the latest versions of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging scanners in the US, which is a matter of pride for Bangalore," he said.
