FIIs records purchases in equities at Rs 1095.9 cr

Mumbai: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) recorded net purchases in equities at Rs 1095.9 crore (US$ 250.5 million) for the trading week ended on September nine while Mutual Funds (MFs) were also net purchasers at Rs 28.35 crore.

The foreign funds were net sellers in the debt market at Rs 142.1 crore (US$ 32.7 million) for the period under review, according to the data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in Mumbai.

The mutual funds were net purchasers in the debt market at Rs 399.04 crore.

The foreign funds recorded highest net inflows of the trading week in equities at Rs 543.30 crore (US$ 124.50 mn) on September nine followed by Rs 247.90 crore (US$ 56.80 mn) on September six.

FIIs were net sellers in the debt market at Rs 165 crore (US$ 37.90 mn) on September five.

MFs recorded highest net purchases in the equity market on September five when they picked up equity worth Rs 88.84 crore.

The highest purchases by MFs in debt market were on September five at Rs 343.32 crore.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), during the week under review, saw the Sensex gaining 160.24 points to close at 8060.01 points.
