HTMT inaugurates new centre at Mauritius today Friday, September 9 2005 18:43 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore-based HTMT, the technology flagship company of the Hinduja Group, today launched its new centre at Mauritius.
Inaugurated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, the centre is located in the state-of-the art Ebene cybercity of Mauritius.
"The setting up of the new centre is in line with our growth strategy and takes HTMT an additional step closer to a truly global deliverymodel.", K Thagarajan, Managing Director and CEO, HTM said in a statement here.
"HTMT's multi-country presence gives it an edge to offer their clients not just geographical diversity but also sizeable capacity and servicing abilities across industry sectors", he said adding, "We now have close to 2000 seats outside India across four global locations in USA, Canada, Philippines and Mauritius besides 4500 spread across eight centres here" he said.
HTMT is on the look out for opportunities for new acquisition and strategic partneships. "Expanding our market and adding new verticals along with the growing intellectual capital is a priority on the company's agenda", he said.
Elaborating on the choice of Mauritius for this new centre, he said untapped talent, right location, good infrastructure and the slew of measures undertaken by the Mauritius goverment had led them to the decision.
The Mauritius government is presently aiming to attract around dollar one billion of BPO revenue and create nearly 20,000 jobs in the sector by 2008.
