New Companies Act to ensure depositors money: Govt
The Government yesterday (Sept 2, 2005) said a bill to amend Companies Act, 1956, expected to be tabled in the winters session of Parliament, will contain provisions against those siphoning off funds collected from the public.

Oil and Natural Gas Corp, India's largest oil producer, has made a huge gas discovery in deep-sea Bay of Bengal, with initial reserves being assessed to be in the range of 4 to 6 trillion cubic feet.

Sensex scales new peaks at intra-trade and close
Stocks: After a brief pause in weekly upsurge, the BSE benchmark 30-share index (sensex) once again turned strong and scaled new peaks of 7928.07 and even ended the week at new closing high of 7899.77 on renewed buying spree despite concerns over sky-high global oil prices.
