Bullish on the Indian healthcare market, GE Healthcare Technologies is confident of doubling its annual revenues to USD 800 million in less than three
years from its operations based out of Bangalore, a top company executive said today (Aug 30, 2005).
GE Healthcare Technologies, South Asia, headquartered here, covers the territories of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives. President and CEO of GE Healthcare Technologies, South Asia, V Raja said that the company's optimism stemmed from among other things, healthcare tourism, Government's aim to double the spending on healthcare and `disease pattern' that the firm sees in India.
GE Healthcare Technologies is a USD 12 billion business of GE Healthcare that provides a broad portfolio of medical imaging and information technologies, patient monitoring
systems and healthcare services.
GE Healthcare Technologies-South Asia comprises Wipro GE Healthcare (Wipro GE Medical Systems Pvt Ltd), GE Healthcare (GE Medical Systems India Pvt Ltd), GE Healthcare (GE BE Pvt Ltd) and Datex Ohmeda India Pvt Ltd.
Though operations based out of Bangalore contribute some three percentage to overall global revenues of GE Healthcare Technologies, its `true value is hidden' in terms of the R & D activities being carried out here, Raja said.
The company today rolled out for the Indian market a high-frequency x-ray system, designed and developed by engineers of its The John F Welch Technology Centre here.
