Programming Research, the UK-based developer of automated source code analysis technologies and coding standards-compliance solutions, today (Aug 29, 2005)
announced the launch of a development centre with a commitment to invest US$ five million in Bangalore where it hopes to conduct up to 60 per cent of the the company's development work in the next 12 to 18 months.
Bangalore centre, its first in Asia, would play a critical role in Programming Research's strategy and some of the main-line product development would be done here, Chief
Executive Officer Paul Blundell told a news conference in Bangalore.
India development centre in the next couple of months would also house a `tech customer support' division, to help customers in Asia Pacific interact live with the firm's
engineers and assist them 24/7 on their queries, Blundell said.
Skill sets available in India are difficult to get elsewhere in the world, he said. Programming Research came to India to tap into business opportunities as well as to
leverage of the domestic skill sets.
Blundell said the growth in scope and scale has allowed the firm to increase its focus on its critical mass of Indian customers and technology partners who in turn drove the need
for the company to establish a local base.
Programming Research's clients in India include Wipro, Satyam, L & T, HCL, Infosys and Philips Innovation Campus.
Blundell said Programming Research helps organisations to identify coding problems early in the development cycle reducing the risk of programming failure, adding, solutions improve time-to-market while reducing costs.
