SAP, leading business software solutions provider, today (Aug 23, 2005) announced its plans to hire 100 engineers and consultants to expand its operations in Gurgaon.
The expansion initially would be in the Services, Support and Consulting lines of business, working with the existing Research and Development and Services and Support hubs in Bangalore, a SAP statement in Bangalore said.
The company aims to recruit close to 100 engineers and consultants during the first year of operations at Gurgaon and plans to double the headcount in 2008, it said.
The hiring process would begin this month as the operations were scheduled to start in November this year, the statement said.
"Our expansion in New Delhi/Gurgaon is a strategic move that will provide further impetus to our growth and reinforce SAP's commitment to the Indian market", Martin Prinz and Georg Kniese, Joint Managing Directors of SAP Labs India, were
quoted as saying in the statement.
SAP employs about 2000 people in India and plans to increase the headcount to 4,000 by 2006. SAP Labs India here is among the four global development hubs for SAP globally and contributes to all areas of the SAP product value chain, it said.
