Wednesday, August 10 2005 20:02 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: NASDAQ-listed global consulting and technology services company Covansys Corporation today (Aug 10, 2005) announced the opening of its new global development centre in Bangalore.

Covansys, which specialises in industry-specific solutions, strategic outsourcing and integration services, said the new centre, scheduled for inauguration on August 16, will consolidate its current Bangalore centres to accommodate its rapidly growing offshore business.

President and Chief Executive Officer Raj Vattikuti said the new centre would enable the company to accommodate its steady offshore growth.

Covansys said in a statement that it has added approximately 1,000 employees in the last year in Chennai, Mumbai, and Bangalore to meet its client needs.

"Our new centre is a direct result of our growth as a company and the demand for our services in India", said Covansys-India President Krishnaswamy Subramaniam in the statement.

He added, "This is an important step in our 20 year history that will enable us to uphold our ongoing focus on client commitment and employee satisfaction".

The new building is 250,000 square feet and accommodates more than 2,200 professionals, the statement said.
