Bangalore: Network service provider Hughes has slashed its satellite broadband prices by 40 per cent with the introduction of five new high-speed service plans.

The new service plans would give organisations the flexibility to select a scheme that meets their business requirement as they scale up the enterprise applications or number of users and will be operational from August 20, 2005, Hughes India said on Tuesday (Aug 9, 2005).

The plans namely Enterprise 500, 400, 300, 200 and 100, priced between Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 deliver up to one Mbps of downstream and upstream needs and would prove useful for the banking, insurance, M&D and e-governance sectors, it said.

The plans, to be supported by DW 600 and DW 700 next generation broadband satellite routers in India, would enhance the upstream and downstream throughput and have the ability to support multiple simultaneous users, it said.

Each plan is designed to deliver a 'Typical' bandwidth value through MPLS QoS technique and would enhance networks capability in handling 'Burst bandwidth'.

It would also ensure an interactive multicast communication with all consumer locations once it is implemented in the client network system, the release said.
