Indian Airlines (IA) passengers could now dial a single telephone number 1407 to contact IA anywhere in India and seek information on the airlines' departures, arrivals, fares or any other details.
Through the one-point contact facility, passengers could now avail of information relating to the seat availability, current booking status, new promotional schemes, telephonic reservation or other flight details.
IA executive class passengers and members of the frequent flyer programme from the six metros could also 'tele check-in' by just dialling 1407 up to two hours before their scheduled departure of their flight, it said.
The helpline is a toll free number when a call is made from MTNL/BSNL landline number or mobile number. The toll free number to be dialled is 1600-180-1407.
When dialling from a non-MTNL/BSNL landline from within the six metros, including Bangalore, the caller has to dial 1407, after prefixing the three digit city code.
The applicable call charges would be levied for these calls.
The helpline offers a multi-lingual option over and above the regular option of Hindi and English. Depending on the place of calling, IA customers could choose from the language to speak to an IA executive. Currently the facility is available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali and Assamese.
