Sensex crosses 7700-mark during morning trading Tuesday, August 2 2005 12:53 Hrs (IST) - World Time -  Mumbai:
Riding high on sustained foreign fund inflow, sensex continued its north bound journey at opening session, at the Stock Exchange, Mumbai (BSE) today (August 2, 2005) and Bench-mark once again touched a high of 7713.69 during morning trading.
BSE-30 shares sensitive index opened firm at 7683.13 as against yesterday's (August 1, 2005) close of 7669.45 and touched a new high of 7713.69 before being quoted at 7724.58 at 1105 am, up by 55.13 points.
Refinery, auto shares were at the forefront on heavy Institutional buying.
Among Index based shares Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Satyam Computer, TISCO, TATAMOT, TCS Ltd, Maruti, Infosys, Larsen and Turbo (L&T), Hindalco, Grasim, Dr Reddy's, Cipla and Tatapower were quoted sharply higher on buying support.
Meanwhile, the global crude oil prices were higher above USD 62.00 per barrel.
Technology stocks also attracted renewed buying on the back of positive NASDAQ advices.
Among top Gainers were GMDC 7.84, Hcltech 6.05, Kochref 4.95, Chepetc 4.70, Godrcon 4.44.
Among top losers were Geosfso 78.30, Ramcsys 1.72, Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) 1.47, Concor 0.94 and Jetair 0.86.
