Govt asks Ratan Tata to reduce bandwidth prices
The Government today (July 28, 2005) asked Ratan Tata, Chairman of the Tata Group, to reduce international bandwidth prices in view of the huge potential for India-centric BPO services.

No change in deadline for IT returns: Finance dept
The Finance Ministry today (July 28, 2005) said, the July 31, deadline for filing of Income Tax return for individuals had not been extended except for those in Maharashtra and Gujarat, where normal life was disrupted due to heavy rains.

BHEL to start renovation on MUZ; Barauni station
Abandoning its plan to firm up a joint venture with the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for revival of its sick Barauni and Muzaffarpur Thermal Power stations, Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) has decided to award a Rs 550 crore renovation, modernisation and maintenance contract to the BHEL under supervision of the NTPC.

McDowell Ltd reports 90% growth in net profit
McDowell and Company Limited of The UB Group has reported a 90 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 10.38 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2005, compared to Rs 5.46 crore in Q1 of last fiscal.
