Mangalore: Mangalore-based Corporation Bank reported a 17.07 per cent year on year growth for the first quarter ended on June 30, 2005.

The net profit of the bank stood at Rs 123.52 crore as against Rs 105.51 crore in the corresponding period last year, registering a 17.07 per cent rise, a bank statement said.

The gross non-performing assets (NPA) was brought down to 3.61 per cent compared to 5.01 per cent as on June 30 last year while the net NPA was placed at 1.15 per cent as on June 30, this year compared to 1.80 per cent during corresponding period last year, the statement said.

The total business of the bank touched Rs 45, 565 crore as against last year's Rs 38, 422 crore thereby registering a rise of 18.59 per cent, the statement added.
