Software major Wipro today (July 22, 2005) said it has bagged a 25 million Pound contract from UK-based Northern Gas Networks (NGN).
Wipro said NGN, one of the new independent gas network companies in Britain, has selected Wipro Technologies to implement a complete replacement of its Work and Asset
Management systems.
Over the next year, Wipro would implement a complete new suite of systems to manage the assets of the gas network in the North of England and to support the staff who operate and maintain the network, the company said in a statement here.
Announcing the Q1 result, the company said during the quarter, it added 29 new clients, including NGN.
"We continued to build on our strengths in Asia with eight new clients and further increased our presence in Europe with 5 new clients", the statement said.
