Titan clocks 44 per cent growth in sales in Q1

Bangalore: Titan Industries said today (July 20, 2005) it has registered a 44 per cent growth in sales with income from operations going up to Rs 300.16 crore in the first quarter of 2005-06, from Rs 209.16 crore during the corresponding period last year.

The company said in a statement in Bangalore its profit before depreciation, interest and taxes increased from Rs 4.58 crore in the first quarter of last year to Rs 13.29 crore during April-June of the current fiscal.

The capital employed reduced from Rs 586.65 crore to Rs 526.43 crore.

The time products division grew by 41 per cent to Rs 134.48 crore from Rs 95.54 crore during the same period last year. The jewellery division recorded a sale of Rs 166.12 crore during the corresponding period of last year, a 46 per cent growth.

The Board of Directors, at their meeting today, also reviewed the long-term plans of the company and the related funding requirements, and will meet again to consider firm proposals in this regard, the statement said.
