81 petrol pumps will be cancelled: Supreme Court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (July 19, 2005) directed the oil companies to go ahead with the recommendation of the report of its two-member committee against the 178 allottees of petrol pump during the previous NDA (National Democratic Alliance) regime.

Out of the 178 oil dealership, 81 will stand cancelled as a Bench headed by Justice Y K Sabrawal vacated its earlier order directing maintenance of status quo on their an allotment.

The 97 approved will continue to operate.

PTI
