Bangalore: Bangalore-based Global Edge Software Ltd., specializing in embedded system services, has announced the addition of ASIC design service to its portfolio of service offerings.

The ASIC design services group offers entire range of ASIC development services and Intellectual Property (IP) related services for RF, and power ASIC designs, a company sources said.

As part of IP development, Global Edge and US-based Onyx Semiconductor Solutions Corp have entered into a partnership and announced the availability of two jointly developed Intellectual Property IP blocks, the OY6100 and OY5100.

Global Edge Software CEO M P Kumar said, "These IP blocks will reduce power consumption in consumer electronic devices like PDA, cellular mobile and gaming devices. They would form building blocks for System on Chip (SOC) and help semiconductor vendors in reducing time to market".
