Infosys Technologies announced today (July 12, 2005) its net profit jumped by 36.97 per cent to Rs 531.92 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.
Infosys reported an income of Rs 2,071.59 crore for the first quarter, a year-on-year growth of 36.52 per cent.
The Bangalore-headquartered software major revised its guidance upwards and said the revenues are expected to grow 26 per cent - 27 per cent in fiscal 2005-06.
Meanwhile, earnings per share from ordinary activities increased to Rs 19.63 from Rs 14.54 (adjusted for the 3:1 bonus issue of shares distributed on July six, 2004) for the corresponding quarter in the previous year, an increase of 35.01 per cent.
The NASDAQ-listed company said 36 new clients were added during the quarter by it and subsidiaries. The quarter was marked by net addition of 3,056 employees.
"The success of our recently concluded Sponsored ADS (American Depository Shares) issue is yet another confirmation of the confidence the world has in our business model", said the company's CEO, President and Managing Director Nandan M Nilekani.
