Virgin announces discount to UK-bound Indo students

New Delhi: To make travel for Indian students seamless and hassle-free, Virgin Atlantic Airways today (July 7, 2005) announced a 10 per cent discount in the airfare besides a five per cent discount for their family members.

The offer could be availed from this month till November end this year, a senior company official said in New Delhi today.

According to the scheme, students travelling to UK from both Delhi and Mumbai can avail a discount of 10 per cent on all classes (Upper class, Premium Economy, Economy) for one-way and return journey valid upto one year.

The airlines, Britains second largest long-haul airline, also announced a five per cent discounts on tickets for friends and families of these young scholars valid till March 31, 2006.

"Our continued endeavour at Virgin Atlantic has been to discover ways and means to encourage student travel, thereby, helping the young aspirers achieve their goals," Regional Manager of Virgin Atlantic for India and Middle East Andrew Fyfe said.

"As a discerning airline, Virgin addresses the two key requirements of students with the introduction of this special scheme, a competitive fare structure and a liberal baggage allowance. Not only are the students the beneficiaries of this scheme, but we have also accommodated their relatives by way of a special discounted offer," he said.

Virgin Atlantic flies daily non-stop flights on the Delhi-London-Delhi route and thrice-weekly flights on the Mumbai-London-Mumbai route.
