Good news! Now STD calls at 99 paise per minute

New Delhi: Cellular service provider Idea has announced a new STD (standard trunk dialling) tariff of 99 paise a minute for its customers of Delhi and national capital region for calls made to any private GSM mobiles anywhere in the country.

Besides prepaid users, the offer is also applicable to all Idea post-paid subscribers on the new Idea India plans.

Idea has introduced these new tariffs from July 6 for its Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) customers wherein all private GSM calls can be made for 99 paise for local and STD, while the Idea-to-local Idea will be charged at 75 paise.

Under this plan, STD from Idea mobile phones to BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd), MTNL, Fixed wireless, WLL will cost Rs 2.75 paise a minute, while the local calls to these phones will be charged Rs 1.75 paise unit.

Local SMS will cost Rs 1 from the earlier Rs 1.50, which is lower than most other operators, and all these at no daily deductions or additional rentals, it said.

Rajendra Chourasia, Circle Head, Delhi NCR, IDEA Cellular Ltd said, this tariff of STD at 99 paise is Idea's next big tariff innovation after its highly successful Idea-to-Idea rate of 75 paise per minute.
