Sunday, July 3 2005 10:57 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Chandigarh: In order to facilitate entrepreneurs of medium and small-sized companies to set up their ventures, Chandigarh Administration has revised allotment rules for sites at Information Service Parks (Technology Parks) in the union territory.

As per the amended rules, IT/ITES/BPO Companies of small or medium size can be allotted land subject to certain conditions, including the sustainability of their project and capacity to invest and set up their facility as per the rules.

A notification to this effect has been issued for the revision of these rules, which will also be applicable to the existing Chandigarh Technology Park (CTP) in respect to sites, which are yet to be allotted.

An official spokesman said on Saturday (July 2, 2005) that the rules have been amended with a view to encouraging companies of all sizes to invest in Chandigarh, especially in high-end areas such as software R & D in order to provide employment and boost the economy.
