Intec opens a new technical facility in Bangalore

Bangalore: British firm Intec Telecom Systems Plc, a global supplier of software to the telecom industry, today (Jun 29, 2005) opened its new technical facility in Bangalore.

The company has already recruited more than 80 people for its new facility and planned to reach 150 by the end of the year and to double it in 2006, James C Meginley, Director, Development and Technology, Intec Telecom Systems, said.

Intec has invested Pound sterling 1.3 million in the Bangalore facility, which would increase to 2.5 to three million next years, he told reporters.

Listed on the London Stock Exchange, Intec is a leading Operations Support Systems (OSS) product vendor for fixed, mobile, and next generation networks, with more than 707 installations of its products in 490 customers worldwide.

Intec's customer base includes more than 500 companies, including 70 carriers in the Asia-Pacific region. The company reported revenues of Pound Sterling 68.8 million for the year ended September 2004, Intec said.
