British Telecom plc bullish on Indian market! Monday, June 27 2005 16:37 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
British Telecommunications plc (BT), a global leader in communications solutions provider, is upbeat on the Indian market.
President of BT in Asia Pacific Allen Ma told reporters in Bangalore today (Jun 27, 2005) that India is probably the fastest growing market in the world in the networked IT solutions space. BPO sector is booming in India and Indian economy also set to unleash its power, he added.
In the next five years, many more brand MNCs would emerge with India as their headquarters, Ma said.
Vice-President, Global Products, BT Global Services, Aaron McCormack, said, "We are focused on BPO and IT-ITeS sector".
Country Manager, India, Mark Cleaver, said BT India's customers include a wide array of about 200 companies from the IT, ITeS, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and finance and banking sectors.
Cleaver said in India, BT is the largest provider of services to MNCs and Indian IT/ITeS companies. BT's India strategy is to roll out managed services and strengthen network infrastructure.
Officials said BT in India is now focussing on delivering global services that support the needs and requirements of its multi-site corporate customers. It provides market access into India through a 'unique' network connected to BT's 'comprehensive' global network.
