Wyse Technology establishes India centre in B'lore
Monday, June 20 2005 20:48 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: Wyse Technology Inc, the worldwide leader in network-centric (or thin client) computing, today (Jun 20, 2005) announced it has established its new India Corporate sales office and software development centre in Bangalore.

The 24,000 sq ft, state-of-the-art facility located in the city will service Wyse Technology's global research and engineering needs and will employ some of India's most highly skilled engineers, a company statement said.

This first facility is fully operational with an initial employee base of 140 and was inaugurated on June 15. India will be the engineering hub, which supports all current Wyse products and will develop the next generation of software to support Wyse's growth plans, it said.

Wyse's investment in India represents the single largest capital commitment in the company's 25-year history. The Wyse Technology India project was completed in five months instead of the 10 to 14 months time frame that it usually takes for this type of a build-out, the statement said.

As well as supporting Wyse's global needs, the centre will develop specific products designed to capture a significant share of India's growing thin client market, the company said.
